RUSNANO and KAMAZ discussed the progress of the Vodorobus project and the prospects for the development of eco-friendly transport. The agreement on the implementation of the project was signed on July 2, 2021 within the framework of the Moscow Urban Forum. The creation of a water bus based on Russian developments and technologies will ensure the continuous introduction of electric propulsion on the entire route network both inside the city and outside it due to the increased range of travel. This is reported by the press service of the RUSNANO Criminal Code.

The parties also considered the possibilities of scaling the project. According to analysts, the volume of the eco-friendly public transport market in Russia will increase 10 times by 2025. If the current pace continues, Moscow will be able to fully switch to electric buses by 2030.

"In the near future, the Russian automotive industry will have to restructure in order to fulfill Presidential decree No. 666 of November 4, 2020, which sets a goal of reducing up to 70% of greenhouse gas emissions into the atmosphere by 2030. To do this, automakers will have to actively design high-tech vehicles using alternative fuels, engage in their production and create the appropriate infrastructure, " said Sergey Kogogin, General Director of KAMAZ PJSC.

The RUSNANO Group includes the joint-stock Company RUSNANO, the Limited Liability Company RUSNANO Management Company and the Fund for Infrastructure and Educational Programs. Thanks to the investments of the RUSNANO Group, 138 enterprises and R&D centers operate in 37 regions of Russia.
