The Russian developer of IT solutions for government and business Sitronics Group, Innopolis University and the Government of the Tyumen Region conducted a joint study, which identified the most in-demand digital services needed in the concept of a smart campus in Tyumen even before the start of the construction phase. To do this, the experts examined the level of use of digital tools in the Russian higher education system, studied the experience of using digital tools of foreign partner universities belonging to the Commonwealth of BRICS countries, as well as in other foreign universities, identified priority areas of academic life of universities.

As a result of the research, the model and structure of information systems and digital services of the "Smart Campus" were formulated, as well as the end-to-end processes of interuniversity information interaction were systematized.

"A modern campus makes a city or region more attractive – for young scientists, students, teachers and high-tech businesses. As a rule, several universities are located in one world-class campus. Everyone has their own focus and their own level of digital maturity. A single digital environment ensures efficient joint work of all residents and provides an opportunity to get individual access to databases on the university's territory," said Igor Kalganov, First Vice President of Sitronics Group.

Smart Campus is a multifunctional complex of digital systems and services for providing educational activities and integrated management of all services available for this purpose – for scientific development, collaboration and project management, for creating events and managing reservations of various zones, for access to knowledge bases and a number of other digital platforms.

"To identify popular digital solutions, our experts analyzed the concepts of 20 leading campuses in the world: in the USA, Great Britain, Germany, France, China, India and other countries. We have studied the experience of creating a network of university campuses in Russia: in Moscow, Kazan, Innopolis, Tomsk, Yakutia, Krasnoyarsk and Vladivostok. We also held an analytical session with five universities that will be part of the Interuniversity Campus of the Tyumen Region, analyzed their internal business processes. And based on all the information, we proposed an upper-level model of the IT infrastructure of the future world-class digital campus," commented Maria Obraztsova, Director of the Institute of Additional Education at Innopolis University.

"Today, the issue of digitalization of the Tyumen Region campus is one of the key issues on the regional agenda. Together with future campus participants, the processes of interuniversity interaction are being worked out, requirements for digital services and campus systems are being formulated, as well as for their integration with existing university systems. We do not have a goal to create only new solutions: we are considering the possibilities of using systems that have already shown their effectiveness, implemented in the work of advanced universities in the region," said Stanislav Loginov, Director of the Informatization Department of the Tyumen Region.
