17 small spacecraft manufactured by the private space company SPUTNIX, part of the Sitronics Group, have arrived at the Vostochny cosmodrome, and the process of preparing them for the upcoming launch is underway. They are designed to carry out civilian missions.

SPUTNIX is one of the leading players in Russia and the world in the field of creating small satellites. During mass production in 2023, more than 100 CubeSat-format civil satellites were built, which will go into orbit this year.

Among the batch being prepared for launch are 16 devices of the Russian SITRO–AIS automatic identification system (AIS) grouping for tracking ships, as well as the device of the grouping of ultra-small Earth remote sensing satellites – Zorky-2M.

"The upcoming launch is one of the stages in solving the problem of providing Russian consumers with the necessary data in various industries. The new satellites in orbit will expand the capabilities of the services already created by Sitronics Group. For example, an automatic identification system for monitoring navigation, ecomonitoring, and monitoring the use of agricultural land," said Alexey Katkov, member of the Board of Directors of Sitronics Group.

According to joint agreements between Cosmos Hotel Group and Sitronics Group, 5 launched spacecraft are named after the largest Russian hotel operator and its sub-brands: Cosmos Collection Hotels (first-class 5* resort hotels), Cosmos Selection (5* city hotels), Cosmos Hotels (functional and cozy 4* hotels), Cosmos Smart Hotels (3* city hotels) and Cosmos Stay Apartments (modern apartment hotels). In total, the company's portfolio includes about 40 hotels exclusively of categories from 3* to 5* (premium class hotels, including resort complexes) in 20 cities of Russia. Cosmos Hotel Group carries out operational asset management with a room fund of more than 10 thousand units.

Alexander Biba, President of Cosmos Hotel Group, noted:

"It is symbolic that the logo of our "space" brand is placed on the satellites. For the first time in the world, it is a Russian hotel company that will go to conquer the vastness of the universe. Here on Earth, we are building our own Universe of Hospitality – our hotel chain is developing rapidly from year to year. We will continue to keep the set pace and conquer new heights: introduce high global standards of service and quality, adapt them to the Russian market, build hotels, and this year we plan to train five thousand people at the corporate Cosmos Academy. In the coming months, we also plan to open several hotels in different regions of Russia."

Today, SPUTNIX develops and creates civilian satellites in the interests of Russian and foreign customers, as well as to solve the strategic tasks of the Sitronics Group itself. SPUTNIX is also creating spacecraft to solve scientific and educational tasks, more than 10 educational satellites were produced and launched in 2023 alone. The company is an active participant in the field of additional space education, within which it helps teams of students and schoolchildren master various disciplines – from satellite engineering to satellite data transmission and processing, as well as launch real scientific and educational devices into space. The OrbiCraft 3D training constructor has been delivered to more than 50 educational institutions in 20 cities of Russia. In 2023, a new educational designer of the OrbiX interplanetary spacecraft was introduced for teaching programming, radio engineering, satellite engineering in schools, universities and other educational centers.
