The Moscow Arbitration Court declared Sergei Osipov, the former chairman of the Board of Kapitalbank, bankrupt and introduced a property sale procedure against him. This is stated in the message of the Deposit Insurance Agency, according to which the case was considered.

The bank's claim of 717 million rubles is included in the register of creditors' claims of S.Osipov.

In 2019, the court brought S.Osipov to criminal responsibility for fraud on a particularly large scale and sentenced him to 7.5 years in prison. In 2022, damage was recovered from him in favor of Kapitalbank for 717 million rubles.

The Central Bank revoked Kapitalbank's banking license in 2016 due to the fact that the credit institution pursued a high-risk credit policy related to the placement of funds in low-quality assets.
