Atlas Biomedical Holding sold 71.5% of the Oncoatlas Molecular Oncology Center to the main owner of Protek Group Vadim Yakunin. Vladislav Mileyko, co-founder of Oncoatlas, continues to own a 28.5% stake in the laboratory. The Vedomosti newspaper writes about this.
The center specializes in the prevention, diagnosis and selection of cancer therapy based on the analysis of the molecular genetic profile of a human tumor and hereditary characteristics. Oncoatlas test systems are used in the CHI system for patients with four types of cancer (breast, ovarian, pancreatic and prostate). Targeted drugs are aimed at specific targets, i.e. genetic mutations. They are detected by tests through sequencing of tumor samples.
Yakunin's Protek group, in addition to the pharmaceutical distributor CV Protek and the Rigla pharmacy chain, includes the Atlas Medical Center. The company operates two multidisciplinary preventive medicine clinics in Moscow. Diagnostic solutions of Oncoatlas, according to Nikolay Bespalov, Director of Development at the RNC Pharma analytical company, referred to by Vedomosti, are complementary to the activities of Atlas clinics. In his opinion, the amount of the transaction may be in the "range of several tens of millions of rubles."
