As the head of the Federal Forestry Agency Ivan Sovetnikov said during the All-Russian meeting on the results of forestry work, connecting equipment to the ERA-GLONASS system will bring control over the turnover of wood to a new qualitative level.

"In March of this year, the Arkhangelsk and Ulyanovsk regions launched a project that will allow filling the FGIS LC with information about machines that are engaged in harvesting wood and transporting it. Having worked out the mechanisms for integrating data on the movement of equipment in the two regions, the experience gained can be broadcast throughout the country. Information from the vehicle through the ERA-GLONASS system will be transmitted when the car is moving and when it is parked. Starting from 2025, all forestry equipment should be equipped with sensors," he said.

He also noted in his report that data transfer is currently underway in the FGIS LC: almost 90% of the data on forest areas, including precinct ones, are loaded, 80% of the information on forest quarters, which is more than 1 million. He stressed that it is necessary to complete the data entry on tax allocations in the shortest possible time.

"I would like to emphasize separately that the transition to FGIS LC is an inevitable and very fast process – there will be no postponements or shifts in deadlines. The full-fledged commissioning of the system will take place on January 1, 2025, which means that our colleagues and I have 3 quarters left to digitize, enter all data into the system, and learn how to work with it," Ivan Sovetnikov said.

Already this year, the pilot regions of the system launch - Arkhangelsk, Ulyanovsk and the Republic of Tatarstan began to provide public services through FGIS LC. In particular, a forest user can submit a forest declaration and a report on the use of forests through a personal account in the system.

The head of the Federal Forestry Agency noted the improvement in the quality of work at the EPSU. This is evidenced by the demand for such online services and the assessment of users, who last year gave us 4.5 points out of 5 possible.
