United Tea Company wants to buy Ekaterra's assets

At the end of February, the Federal Antimonopoly Service of Russia received a petition from United Tea Company LLC for the preliminary consent of the antimonopoly authority to make a transaction for the acquisition of fixed assets and intangible assets of Ekaterra LLC. This is stated in the message of the service.

Recall that in 2022, Ekaterra announced the cessation of tea production in Russia. It was about Lipton, Saito and Brooke Bond brands.

Earlier, Unilever announced the completion of the sale of Ekaterra to CVC Capital Partners. Unilever and CVC signed an agreement to sell Ekaterra in November 2021 for 4.5 billion euros.

Ekaterra is an international tea production company. Ekaterra's portfolio includes 34 brands, including Lipton, PG tips, Pukka, T2 and TAZO. In 2020, revenue amounted to about 2 billion euros.

United Tea Company has been operating in the Russian market since 1998. Brands: Eastford, Berryford, Kama Sutra, "Green Standard".
