The volume of communication services provided to enterprises of all types of activities in July 2021 increased by 2.6% compared to July 2020, and compared to June 2021 - decreased by 3.6%, amounting to 182.4 billion rubles. This is stated in issue No. 1442 of the monthly bulletin "Branches of the Russian economy: production, finance, securities. Connection" dated September 29, 2021.

In the first seven months of 2021, the volume of communication services amounted to 1,303.7 billion rubles, which is 7.8% higher than the result of January-July 2020. The volume of paid communication services to the population in July 2021 amounted to 118.2 billion rubles, an increase of 2.6% compared to July 2020 and 1.6% compared to the previous month. The volume of communication services to the population in January-July 2021 increased by 0.6%.

Russians began to consume almost 6 times more mobile Internet than 5 years ago: according to the calculations of bEeline.Analysts", since the beginning of 2016, the overall growth in mobile Internet consumption has amounted to more than 545%. Young people under 25 began to use the Internet from mobile devices by 2478% more, people aged 25 to 45 years - by 494%, from 45 to 65 years - by 455%, and those over 65 download 784% more information from mobile devices than in 2016.

Ensuring the operation of the "sovereign Runet" will cost the budget 31 billion rubles. — This amount is planned to be allocated within three years to ensure the stability, integrity and security of the Runet and communication networks. Including in 2022, expenses will amount to 10.8 billion rubles, in 2023 - up to 10.3 billion rubles, and in 2024 - up to 9.5 billion rubles. These amounts are provided for in the draft federal budget for 2022-2024, which was approved by the government and will be submitted to the State Duma by October 1. The Information Society program, for which this funding is intended, may include the event "Control and supervision in the field of communications, information technology and mass communications".

In September, the Ministry of Economy sent for revision a draft government decree developed within the framework of the "regulatory guillotine" and concerning the data retention periods and the reduction of their volume within the framework of the "Spring law". The amendments were intended to mitigate the requirements for mobile operators provided for by the "Spring law", but in the end they remained in the same volumes — the document still provides for the storage of user traffic for six months. The operators themselves complain about excessive regulation and requirements, which are tightened every time. At the same time, experts believe that even if the storage time of traffic is maintained, the costs of operators for the implementation of the "Spring law" will increase, which will lead to an increase in tariffs.
