Otkritie Bank bought a stake in Tochka from QIWI for 4.95 billion rubles

Otkritie Bank bought from QIWI for 4.95 billion rubles. 40% of ordinary shares and 45% of preferred shares of JSC "Tochka". Thus, the bank increased its stake in Tochka to 90%+1 share from 50% +1 share, the Otkritie report says.

Otkritie Bank, QIWI and Tochka will continue to develop joint B2B2C projects, providing a range of services to taxi companies, delivery companies and logistics firms, the self-employed and many others. Customers will continue to receive services from each party regardless of changes in the ownership structure of the "Point", the message emphasizes.

The closing of the transaction, which must be approved by the FAS, is expected in the third quarter of 2021, according to QIWI.

Tochka offers its customers who have accounts in one of the banks, round-the-clock cash settlement services, account management, cross-border operations, currency conversion, trade acquiring, simplified accounting and tax services. As of December 31, 2020, Tochka had more than 580 thousand customers.

Otkritie Bank is included in the list of systemically important credit institutions approved by the Bank of Russia. Otkritie develops all the main business areas of a classic universal bank: corporate, investment, retail, SME and Private Banking. The bank's subsidiaries occupy leading positions in key segments of the financial market: insurance companies "Rosgosstrakh" and "Rosgosstrakh Life", "Otkritie Broker", Management Company" Otkritie", NPF" Otkritie", JSC" Baltic Leasing", LLC" Open Leasing", LLC" Otkritie Factoring", RGS Bank, JSC"Customs Card".

The net profit of Otkritie Bank for the first quarter of 2021 according to RAS increased by more than 8 times to 26 billion rubles from 3 billion rubles a year earlier. According to the results of the first quarter, the assets of Otkritie Bank increased by 70 billion rubles to 2.7 trillion rubles. The loan portfolio before deducting reserves has increased by 155 billion rubles since the beginning of the year to 1.8 trillion rubles. According to the results of the first quarter of 2021, customer funds increased by 54 billion rubles to 2 trillion rubles. Funds of individuals as of April 1 amounted to 962 billion rubles.
