A solemn ceremony of laying a time capsule under the foundation of the construction of a new building of the Military Training Center of the Russian University of Transport, which will open in 2025, took place in Moscow today.
The event was attended by Deputy Minister of Transport Dmitry Bakanov, Rector of the Russian University of Transport Alexander Klimov, Head of the Main Directorate of Railway Troops of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation Oleg Kosenkov, representatives of the Department of Urban Planning Policy of Moscow, the Prefecture of SAO and students of RUT (MIIT).

Dmitry Bakanov noted that the Ministry of Transport of Russia pays special attention to personnel training. "There are 19 transport universities in the country, of which we are sincerely proud. I would especially like to mention the students of the Military Training Center at the Russian University of Transport. You are the future defenders of the Fatherland, the elite of the country. It is no coincidence that the best of the best come here. This applies to knowledge, physical fitness, and the ability to make the right decisions. Your mentors are doing everything possible to make you worthy successors of the glorious cause of transport workers," he stressed.
"I really hope that in many years future students of the Russian University of Transport, just like you, like all of us, will be proud to develop the transport complex of Russia. To create new routes, modernize passenger transportation, deliver goods, take planes into the sky, conquer the seas and oceans, protect the interests of our beloved country," the Deputy minister added.
"The reconstruction of the building for the RUT Military Training Center takes into account all the needs of students and teachers for effective and comfortable learning. The corps will meet all the requirements for the implementation of military training programs. This building will be the first step towards the creation of a multifunctional technological cluster Obraztsovo, the largest scientific and educational center for the development of the country's transport industry," said the rector of the Russian University of Transport Alexander Klimov.
In 2025, more than 500 RUT students will study in the new building of the Military Training Center for military training programs. The future building is a four–storey building with an area of more than 5 thousand m2, located at 5 Taldomskaya Street.
The H-shaped building will have everything necessary to prepare students at a high level: 9 classrooms, 2 computer labs, a laser shooting range, a dining room, a yunarmey class, sports and assembly halls. Outside there will be a drill ground and 6 sites for combined arms training with a mock-up of a rail grating for assembly and disassembly of a railway track.
The military training center will become part of the Obraztsovo multifunctional technology cluster, the future largest scientific and educational center for the development of the country's transport industry. The cluster will unite 7 facilities of the Russian University of Transport: a military training Center, a Sports Palace, a Palace of Culture, an Academy of Water Transport, academic buildings and campuses. The cluster will include both new facilities and existing buildings of the RUT, which will be reconstructed. The objects of the Obraztsovo cluster will be located in Moscow and the city of Pushkino near Moscow, with the main center on Obraztsova and Novosushchevskaya streets.
