A new fraudulent practice is spreading in Russia: unknown people, posing as insurers, offer Russians to download an application from the Ministry of Health to replace the CHI policy, which is actually a program that allows them to access the device and write off funds. The All-Russian Union of Insurers (VSS) has developed recommendations for insured persons under compulsory health insurance that will allow them to protect themselves from fraudsters. This was told by the president of the VSS Yevgeny Ufimtsev, the press service of the VSS and the RSA reported.

He recalled that employees of insurance companies do not notify citizens about the expiration of the policy, since compulsory health insurance policies, including the old model, are indefinite and are valid throughout Russia.

E.Ufimtsev, whose words are quoted in the message, noted that so far the spread of the fraudulent scheme has been recorded in the Primorsky Territory. The BCC recommends that the owners of CHI policies, in case of doubt that the call was actually received from an employee of the insurance company, finish talking and call back to the contact center of their insurance medical organization. The Union also draws attention to the fact that employees of the insurance company do not ask citizens to give them SMS codes or personal data.
