In Q1 2020, gold production increased by 4% year-on-year to 225.9 koz, the company informed.
The growth was mainly driven by higher volumes of ore processed at Taborny, Gross and Suzdal mines, as well as higher recovery rates at Gross, Suzdal and Taparko.
Q1 production decreased against Q4 2019 mainly due to the normal impact of the winter season on heap leach operations in Russia, lower processed volumes and grade at Bissa-Bouly and Lefa, as well as lower recovery at Suzdal, the statement notes.
Nordgold is an internationally diversified 1 million oz gold producer with over 8,000 people operating a portfolio of ten mines (in Burkina Faso, Guinea, Russia and Kazakhstan) and a number of development and exploration projects in West Africa, Eurasia and the Americas. The company was founded in 2007. Since 2013, Nordgold has successfully constructed three gold mines, including two in Burkina Faso (Bouly and Bissa) and the Gross mine in Russia.
