The rock mass on the Bureyskoye Reservoir does not prevent the free flow of water any longer, RusHydro informed.
The size of the passage created by military bomb experts in the landslide mass on the Bureyskoye Reservoir has significantly increased during the spring flood. The passage capacity has increased to more than 7,000 cubic meters per second. There is no flood hazard for the settlements, the washing-out of the rock mass by the running water and the restoration of the Bureya river bed continues naturally. The water heads in the reservoir upstream and downstream of the landslide has become equal. Therefore, the obstruction does not result in backwater and does not prevent the free flow of the Bureya River anymore, the statement notes.
