Specialists of PJSC MegaFon have launched the LTE Advanced technology at the base stations of Tver, the company informed.
LTE Advanced is the most advanced version of the 4G telecom technology. The key advantage of the upgraded network is a breakthrough in the speed of mobile Internet which is currently 10 times above the conventional 4G network bandwidth. The maximum LTE-A speeds currently exceed 200 Mbps.
PJSC MegaFon (tax number: 7812014560) established in 1993 as CJSC North-West GSM and renamed as OJSC MegaFon in 2002, is currently the second largest mobile operator in the Russian Federation providing services to more than 69 million subscribers. MegaFon's subsidiaries are operating in Tajikistan, Abkhazia and South Ossetia.
IFRS net profit of MegaFon for H1 2018 grew by 30.2% to RUB 12.191 billion from RUB 9.361 billion a year earlier. Revenue increased by 3.9% to RUB 158.404 billion from RUB 152.449 billion, OIBDA by 5.3% to RUB 62.827 billion from RUB 59.646 billion.
IFRS net profit of MegaFon for Q2 2018 grew by 11.5% to RUB 6.154 billion from RUB 5.521 billion a year earlier. Revenue increased by 5.1% to RUB 81.945 billion from RUB 77955 billion, OIBDA by 5.4% to RUB 32.261 billion from RUB 30.615 billion.
According to AK&M Information Agency's DataCapital information retrieval system, RAS net profit of PJSC MegaFon for H1 2018 was RUB 15.664 billion against a loss of RUB 10.805 billion a year earlier. Revenue increased by 2.5% to RUB 144.944 billion from RUB 141.351 billion, gross profit by 3% to RUB 49.476 billion from RUB 47.981 billion. Pre-tax profit amounted to RUB 15.665 billion against a loss of RUB 10.805 billion.
