In the fourth quarter of 2017, the Bank of Russia received 33.9 thousand complaints against non-credit financial institutions (+18% against the previous quarter). The number of complaints against banks increased by 18% to 36.8 thousand complaints in the fourth quarter. As a result, complaints against credit institutions accounted for more than half of their total number (52%), the Central Bank informed.
Insurance companies accounted for 35.4%, microfinance organizations for 5.8%, credit consumer cooperatives for 2.9% of the complaints submitted in the fourth quarter of 2017.
In 2017, the Bank of Russia received 121.9 thousand complaints against non-credit financial institutions (+22% above the 2016 level). 37% of the complaints were submitted against insurance companies. 122.3 thousand complaints were submitted against credit institutions in 2017 (50.1% of the total number of complaints and appeals).
